Ahh the sea!! 

Jenna and I loved this place, our favourite hostel. 

Maybe I should include some pictures of the good stuff of Ireland that I miss - I so want our dog Lewis to be able to run along one of these beaches some day - I don't think that he will have truely lived until he tries it. 

Now why would the police want to pick on us peaceful marchers, protesters and deadly firework throwers?? Maybe I should just stick with photos from the garden.

Then there are the beautiful fireworks... ahhhh!! Ohhhh!! Look that one nearly killed someone!! Fantastic!! (It's just like 4th July with Alexia's Dad!)

Then there are the others that'll protest the orangemen in unhelpful ways. 

As much as I miss home some days there are some parts of the summer that I don't miss. Orangemen marching season is the time when everyone becomes an idiot for some reason. Nashville is so much more peaceful in summer.

Basil, why pay for it?

This stuff has been growing so well, we are able to pluck leaves off nearly every day for salad or pasta. Why I have been paying for this stuff for all these years I do not know! What I have to keep reminding myself is that this is a community garden of sorts and the wealth needs to be shared - I feel like I want to be selfish with all this food. We found two cucumbers yesterday, hidden under the leaves of the plant, one of them was huge. We ate one of them..... What can I say, I'd never had one straight from the garden.

If you haven't tried growing something to eat I really think that you are missing out on something quite amazing. If you had a bad day and you come home to your garden to find something that seems to have grown overnight, it'll make you do a little dance of excitement.

Little Baby Taters

Jenna and I decided to dig into the side of one of the potato plants, just to see what was happening down there. We have no idea of when to harvest the spuds, so this was an exploration in guesswork. Lo and behold little potatoes! Small as they were we boiled them and roasted them a little. They were great, full of flavor. I'm looking forward to when there is a bigger load of them that we can share.
